Group – Molkky

MOLKKY

Group Leader: Ray Hardy
Meets: 2nd & 4th Thursday 11.00 am till 12.00
Venue: Village Hall – outside on the grass.
Group Full? NO. Active ? YES (New members welcome.)

Molkky (pronounced Molka) is also known as Finnish Skittles.

Games will be held on the grass outside the Village Hall (the Hall itself will not be open).

No experience is necessary but clothing suitable for a variety of weather conditions is recommended.

Contact our Group Coordinator : Ray Hardy

Here’s a brief overview of how to play Mölkky:

Objective: Knock down wooden pins using a larger wooden pin called the “Mölkky.”
Setup: Arrange twelve wooden pins, each numbered from 1 to 12, in four rows (two, three, four, and three pins per row).

Place the throwing line approximately 10 to 13 feet (3 to 4 meters) away from the pins. For official Mölkky competitions, the throwing line is exactly 11.5 feet (3.5 meters) from the pins

Gameplay:
Players take turns throwing the Mölkky at the pins.
Knocked-down pins are scored based on their numbers.
The first player or team to reach exactly 50 points wins.

Strategy: Mölkky requires both skill and precision, as well as a strategic mindset.

GROUP – Weekenders Sunday Lunch

Group Leader : Gilly Hagen

The group meets on the 2nd Sunday of the Month unless otherwise advised

Venues Vary

About our Group

This group had previously been running as part of the Weekenders Group, but has now been set up as a dedicated new group with a single purpose.

In previous years the chosen venues have been ones that are not food chains.

Members include both couples and individuals. However, when we get together it is fun time, and people have lots of news to share.

Some members are not drivers so car share is offered wherever possible. The members want to ensure that no one is alone and not able to have a good meal. Numbers are regularly 12-14 people at each event.

See the Diary of Events for more information about what is planned.
